For the most part, fathers see their daughters as angels who should be treated with the utmost respect. Unfortunately, the world (and the other men in it) don’t always understand this.
Noah Slomski, a Canadian father of two young girls, was determined for his little ones to know exactly how they should always be treated. He decided to take his oldest, Arianna, out on monthly “dates” for cake and ice cream, where he’d make sure they bonded. In a Facebook post, his wife, Caitlin Fladager, detailed the sweet gesture in full.
“My husband decided once a month he will take our little girl out on a ‘date’ where she gets all dressed up and gets taken out for cake and ice cream. Tonight was their first night doing it,” Caitlin’s post began.
“He helped her pick out a dress for her to wear, got a little purse ready for her, held the door open for her, and made her feel like a princess. She loved it [and she] was so happy when she got home. She will always know how she deserves to be treated because her dad sets such a high example.”
“We typically spend a lot of time together when I’m home from work anyway, but not just the two of us. All bonding time is good for strengthening a parent-child relationship, and time spent that differs from the usual routine is always enjoyable,” Noah said in an interview. Caitlyn added, “I feel like they have an even tighter bond now.”
That’s one way to get in some quality time with your daughter! If it has the added benefit of showing Arianna what a good role model looks like—and she has fun in the process—that’s even better!
